Can lyrics make or brake a song? I beleive the answer to this is YES! Now there are going to be some of you out there shaking your heads and screaming at me from behind your computer, disagreeing with me, but the truth is lyrics are very important.
I know you are saying, "But, Naminoo, lyrics don't make a song. The Guitar, Drums, and other various instruments are what makes the song!" While that is true, very, very true, the song won't get big if the lyrics aren't catchy, or they just plain suck. On the other hand, if the lyrics are catchy, meaningful, or even funny, it can make the song.
Take for example, If U Seek Amy, by Britney Spears. It's a pretty good song, very catchy, and hard not to sing along too. (Just hear me out, even if you don't like Britney.) These are the lyrics of the chorus:
Love me, hate me
Say what you want about me
But all of the boys and all of the girls
Are begging to if you seek Amy
Love me, hate me
But can't you see what I see?
All of the boys and all of the girls
Are begging to
if you seek Amy
So, these lyrics make absolutely NO sense. The song is about Britney trying to find this one girl named Amy. But there is one line that doesn't make sense. "All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek amy." It sounds like bad gramar but it isn't. Britney is sending us a secrect message. When sung/read out loud it sounds like this, "All of the boys and all of the girls are begging to F. *. C. K. me!" See it now?
This song has become very popular with kids my age. Is it because of the amazing guitar solo and the catchy drum beat? No, it's because of these lyrics. So, case closed, lyrics can make or brake a song!
The lyrics to that particular song are absolutely meaningless. She's just horny. But Lyrics are the most important part of a song so kudos there. XD
ReplyDeleteAt least you agree with me! Lyrics might not be the only part of the song, but they are
ReplyDeleteREALLY important. I know the lyrics to that song are pointless, but they make the song!
